Even if that is the case, I would feel a lot more comfortable treating it nicely for 1000km, and did with the 18RG.

Don't let it idle too long after first start up, take it for a drive asap.

First drive: full throttle but not above 3000RPM to seat the bearings. Try to do a long drive the first time, if it needs extra tuning (assuming carby version), do it along the way. 100ks is a good first drive.

For the first 100km try to keep the revs between 2000 and 3000 but not at the same revs for very long.(keep changing up and down gears if cruising)
occasionally giving it full throttle from 60kph - 100kph in fourth.

For the next three hundred, drive it normally but don't rev it above 3500.

After that drive it normally but not above 4500 until you've done 1000km.

Don't have it at the same rev range for too long, if you drive at 60kph a lot in this time, then alternate between third and fourth gear every few minutes.

Once you've done 1000kms I would be pretty sure that everythings is run in enough to give it a boot every now and then.
If you want to not totally thrash it for the next 400ks or so, that might be a good idea too, but that's up to you.

This is roughly the process I would do with any "new" engine that I put in, mainly because if anything goes wrong, you might get an indication while working in the engine, which is better thatn taking it straight to 7500rpm and having it shit its self.
