To do this you will need: A flat surface, A ruler or tape measure and, A Calculator (or be good with maths). First you have to remove the wheel from the vehicle and place it face-down on the ground. You need to then place the flat surface across the back of the wheel. Then get your tape measure and measure the distance from the flat surface to the hub-mounting face/surface. This measurement is your wheel's backspace. Now to work out your wheel's offset you must measure the width of the wheel. Now all of this should really be done without a tyre on the rim because you will not really be able to get a correct reading. The width of the wheel is NOT the widest part of the rim, but the verticle lip on the edge of where the bead of the tyre sits. Anyway, once you have the width, you must divide this figure by two, then subtract the backspace measurement you made before, and Voila! You have your wheel's offset!
