Have a look at how much further the 1JZ comes from the engine mounts compared to a 1G, that might give you and idea of distribution.

That's pretty much what I'm looking at doing.
I might try to get to a weighbridge tomorrow

Heres a list of celica weights (All in Kg) From a document i found on the web.

<1600 ST/LT> Gross weight Weight
B-TA35-LK 1,210 990
B-TA35-LM 1,210 990
<2000 ST/LT>
C-RA35-LK 1,255 1,035
C-RA35-LM 1,260 1,040
C-RA35-LH 1,260 1,040
<2000 DOHC/GT>
A-RA28-MQGU 1,305 1,085
<2000 DOHC/GTV>
A-RA28-MXGU 1,310 1,090

From factory specs, the 1JZ weighs 217Kg (Including turb's, no gearbox). Im not sure about the weight of the JZ gearbox though. If it helps i remember the RA28 gearbox weighs 40Kg, so the 20R engine weight is about 180Kg.

To better balance the celica, try lightening the load at the front by moving the battery to the boot, and by using aluminium brackets where/if possible. Either that or go the other way, and increase the load at the rear by e.g. installing a surge tank. This should allow the engine to drink a bit deeper as well as putting a higher load on the rear end.

Most 1JZ/RA28 conversions ive seen use a 94' hilux rear disk and LSD conversion. There is a paper on it somewhere on this site too.

A good site to look at is:

Hope this helps!
