I would have thought that if it isn't EFI then it should fit in with minimal modification. This would be the cheapest option, as long as your mate was happy to sell you the motor at the right price.
If the motor was EFI then you would need to find an EFI fuel tank and lines from an ae82 twin-cam. These aren't too expensive but it will be a bigger, more complicated project.
