I want to do the following:
-Have a switch in the car so i can turn it on and off at will.
- And also have it like a thermally controlled one...where after i turn the car off, the fan keeps going to prevent heatsoak.
Note: i dont want the fan running off a thermostat..as i only want to run it at will.
Ive got a relay and switch already...just need to know how i can go about doing the above?

wiring up relay...
-put the relay in an easy-to-get-to spot (engine bay)
-find a power line feeding horn or brake lights (this is fused but not switched by the Ig key or something)
-take a feed from that and make it power to the solenoid in the relay (so relay solenoid always has power)
-take other coil line from relay into cabin to switch
-other side of switch then goes to earth
-actual power to fans should come from battery or main power leaving the alternator (you have big fuse box in bay still?)
-power goes to relay (put a big inline fuse somewhere between power source and relay)
- then send power from relay to your fan with then earths the return line somwhere nearby.
Delaying it? (like a turbo timer) you need to know when the ign key is on/off so you can then use that power to a a relay that cuts into the line from relay solenoid to your cabin switch.
simplified concept: use Ign power to charge up a capacitor(s), when Ign power falls to zero, use stored charge to keep relay closed, the more stored charge, the longer relay stays closed, when charges is gone relay opens, cabin switch cannot switch main relay solenoid to earth and fans turn off. A bypass switch would go around the delay relay - tho if you leave bypass on and go outon the piss, you have to jump-start car next morning.
i'll try find the diagram that i used for by turbo timer and have a go at modifying it for you.
this help?
charles.
