have a look at the build plate for the model number (is on the firewall  )
look at the engine block for the engine type. it will start with either 4K or 4A.
if it's a KE70, go and look at an AE70. they are same car, different crossmember, gearbox and motor.
cost? what can you do yourself? who can you get a motor from etc etc. as a guide, between $0 and $7000.
PREformance? well, preformance is pretty poor if it's a stock 4K...
performance after conversion?? well, do the math. power to weight before motor conversion, power to weight after conversion 
or should i say.

google for the swap. has been done many times, there is fuck all to it, and a quick search will reveal all....
and will be a fun litle car... just do the brakes too
