A 1way LSD (like a factory LSD) only has drive to both wheels on acceleration, and is essentially a single-wheel diff on deceleration. This is what can be thanked for the tank slapping affect that can be felt if you suddenly release the throttle while sideways.
A 1.5 way LSD has 100% lock on accel, just like a factory one, but allows 50% lock on deceleration.
A 2 way LSD has 100% lock on both accel and decel, meaning that both wheels can get full drive whilest completely off the throttle. Hence, this is the best choice for drift, being that it allows you to hold sideways longer without using the right foot to do so.
Hope this helps,
Chris
