Has anyone ever adjusted their valve clearances and had a noticable improvement, just out of curiosity? I'm not talking really worn or out of whack clearances being fixed up, I'm talking about doing (to some extend) what's outlined above. When some of the clearances are over the limit (10 to 30 thou on a bigport I think?) and some are close to it but still within limits, if it's brought back to as close to 10 thou as you can get on all valves, how much difference does it make? To get it really accurate, the valves would have to be removed and measured and taken into account though, which makes it a pretty big job.
I'm thinking about doing mine, some are over & some are within the limit, so maybe a shuffle will do it. First I gotta get my hands on a micrometer, and find out the deal with this toyota tool to remove the shims without removing the cams. Anyone got one of these? Would it be hard to make?
