Squid Forums Junkie Location: Canberra Registered: August 2003	Re: Car Audio Question Tue, 09 December 2003 04:53 Getting rid of the Hands free is not an option, the clip in ones: a) Annoy me. b) The mic on them can't cope with the exhaust note. the other person just hears humming, and not me. c) Don't charge the phone. d) Get tangled. The quality of the earth's is not a problem, as both the amp and the head unit are earthed with a really beefy cable (the same size as the power) and both are earthed to an excellent location. (I don't think you get a problem if the earth is too big, do you?) The hands free earth uses the wire built in and is earthed directly to the chassis ( a bolt that goes through the paint). I think the problem is inherant to the hands free kit I purchased, putting an oscillating frequncy on either the earth or the power. I have bought myself a power filter which should be able to filter that out. Time will tell I suppose...
