keep to the earlier models - once you get to RA40s they hide the take-up reel in the frame behind the door.
RA23 (well my old '76 RA23 anyway) had take reel bolted to floor infoot well behind seats.
mirror? get a cheap stick-on-glass mirror from supercrap - just remember to keep a spare glue kit for when the mirror pops off during a really hot or cold day
