overboosting with new 3" exhaust.

I just got a full 3" manderal bent exhuast/single straight through mufller, drones like ya mumma, on my 3tgteu, hits boosts cut really easily in lower gears, 1sst gear when yoiu hit boost, it goes up so fast that it overboosts almost instantly, even 5-10 secs of full boost in 3rd gear will see it overboost, before the exhuast it was fine, dead on 7.2 psi
Exhaust makes a huge difference both on and off boost, but since i cant really get above 4000rpm without overboosting i cant test her out fully.
My question is how do I solve this problem, ive been told porting the wastegate will fix it, What other solutions are there if any?
ps. for some weird reason my boost cut doesnt actaully activate till 10.0 psi DEAD on 10psi..yes m gauge IS accurate.
edit>>> oh and the other really weird thing is, when you boost it hits hard and goes harder than it did, but when the wastegate fully opens like another 15hp gets added you can feel the kick, like its flowing more exhuast and gaining more power, any else seen or experienced this?
