nah mate. worked fine... i get what you mean. was was trying basically the same thing but with a fixed srew type G-clamp. might try the sliding one thou...youve given me an idea.
the problem w/ the 7m is that the springs arent exposed, thyre recessed into the head with the nice shim arrangemt sittin flush on top of it all. when you compress the spring, it dissappears into the head, and i cant get to the spring retainer doodads sitting on top of the valve stem. its all too fiddly/tight.
