What sort of $$ you guys talking about for a single turbo conversion? Everyone says it's cheaper, but I've been quoted:
Garrett GT30 Pro BB ~6K
Custom Manifold, External Wastegate & Fittings ~2K
8 grand is a substantial investment and not the cheap solution everyone seems to suggest - add injectors, fuelling, and ECU to this and it really gets out of hand.
Have I been misled with pricing?
For 4.5K you can buy a pair of Hybrids with the CT12A cores replaced with Garrett GT28 BB cores, steel exhaust wheels, oversized wastegate, larger compressor wheel and machined standard housings utilising existing manifolds and wastegate - you can ditch the toyota compressor housing as well and have Garret housings instead with a large array of compressor wheels and housings to suit your preferred HP level.
