yeah, both my local chemist and tobacconist both think i'm a drug dealer (for syringes and those little baggies)

i guess my point with the burette is so you can match volumes between chambers and that kind of thing...

i've only ever used soapy water for CCV measurements. never tried oil. i use a 5mm thick perspex plate against the head, with 2 holes, one for water to go in, the other for air to go out... then rather than judging when the meniscus is level with the face of the head, you just see when the water is fully touching the perspex...
