Switching Strut Sides (left on right, right onto left)

What does everyone think of switching strut sides, I mean putting the strut that originally came on the front left onto the front right (and front right onto the front left)?
This will put the caliper at the front of the strut (not the rear as originally designed), which in my case will allow it to clear the steering arms (I hope). The other option is getting the correct steering arms (SA63's, which I didn't take with the struts and fitting them, which is a fair bit of work :S)
Also another question does anyone know if MX62 Shocks will fit SA63 / RA65 etc struts?
Cheers
Wilbo
