i think switching struts could work, as long as you make sure you still got the bleeder nipple for the caliper up the top (obviously), but i spose the only way to know for sure is to try it. when i was putting my struts back in my car i accidently put them in the wrong sides and they all bolted up fine till i went to bolt up the calipers, so i think it will work.
dunno bout the shocks, as long as the thread for the top of the shock is the same (im assuming they are inserts) so that it will fit into the upper spring craddle you should be ok as long as the shock physically fits in the housing. if its too long it wont work but if its too short you can add spacers in the bottom like i did.
