GT4 COA and Fuel pump mods pics ! Fri, 26 December 2003 08:18 Go to previous message
Well its done - i got my cold air induction up and running today Smile - and also ive taken a pic on which fuse needs to be jumpered to get the 13v fuel pressure thingo happening on an St185 Gt4

this is how it was done - in a nutshell .

First - jack thecar up - remove passenger side front wheel

then - remove the plastic shrouds under the guard - taking care not to break it . - the main ones BIG - it leads all the way to the front of the car.

OK - you now should see this !

that ugly big box is the induction resonator - or something - better known as a total waste of space and plastic ..

Notice on the up theres a pipe leading off into the engine bay !

thats the one were liberating for the cold air induction !

To remove it there 3 bolts - one below the battery , one clearly seen from in front of it that bolts to a metal brace to the fender - and One up above that - behind the electric motor for the pop up lights .

This last one in particular is an Arse to remove - ALOT of fiddling to get into it - but it can be done by raising the lights , then using a 10 mm socket and extensoin - you can make it loose enough to take off with your fingers..

After its out - youll have a BIG space under that arch - to pipe up air from outside the car .

Pipe measurement for the opening is 50 MM - so you can either use flex hose and clamp it on as shown - took me 10 mins to do - and cost 20 dollars for the flex hose from repco - or use PVC piping and make it a little more solid ..

I may use a combination of both as soon as the other bumpers on - to use the brake duct on the passenger side as the inlet.

You can use bigger diameter hose if you want - but that will require opening the hole in the side of the engine bay up more.

Lastly - if you want to use the 13v constant fuel pump voltage mod - as mentioned on the gt4 faq's - this is the fuse you need to jump - Pretty simple huh ? though READ THE ARTICLE FIRST - just incase yours is different to mine !
