Mon, 29 December 2003 14:22 To tell you the truth, I don't have a clue how to look through the computer maps and am worried I might do some damage. The previous guy to me installed the engine and it has never quite idled properly. It would sit around 1100rpm and rev up and down 2-300rpm. When I got the car the top mount wasn't installed and there was no intercooler (at the time I didn't know about the engine and the need to intercool it, stupid yes). I eventually fitted a supra intercooler (front mount) and this didn't help the car one bit. Sure i feel safer running it to the red line but when I come to stop, if I disengage the clutch from above 2000rpm the engine will just die in the arse everytime and some times under 2000rpm. I should be able to give the car a rev (parked) and the see the enginme move into a smooth idle around 900rpm, right?? Hell 1000rpm is fine with me. I still don't understand why the engine needed to be run soo rich. I am getting around 300kms to the tank. Thats just mad. I really want to know if it is something that isn't hooked up properly (my problem to fix) or it is the case of incompitant tunners (their problem, trust me ) Thanks for the ideas fellas, I will try to work logically through it Cheers Mad RS [Report message to a moderator]
