Would it be possible to get JDM spec trueno if so how much or would it be better to get a aus spec model(4ac engined and non pop up lights)then convert it to JDM spec if so how much could i pick up a aus spec model and also how much would the front(JDM front) conversion set me back. Plus would 20V 4AGE be the way to go or 4AGZE be the way to go if so how much would this whole package end up setting me back? I am weighing up whether or not it's worth to get the Sprinter/trueno and build it slowly as i save money or save up and get something else?
I have put much thought into this and just need some advice from the people in the know.
Also what type of diff, drivetrain adjustments would need to be made once engine conversion has taken place.?
Sorry for the long post but I am just weighing up my options or alternatively buy a ready done TRUENO(saw one for 8k advertised on here )

Plain and simply, the easiest option is to find an ae86 with mostly everything done. This will save you a HELLA alot of hassles seeing as you have a desired outcome and an imagination of what you want. Getting an AE86 to a reasaonable level requires alot of work, and money + time, as i have experienced and i stress the word 'reasonable'...
'TAKUMI' aka. Ben, has had ALOT of work done to it, and if you asked him, I'm sure he wouldn't want to do it again, as the time and hassle he went thru just to put the front end on is as much work as a project in itself. Mind you, it was formerly an Aus-spec sprinter with fixed headlight front and rust owned by his Aunt! In my opinion there is well over 30K into that car, possibly 35, so unless you wanna go that way, I'd advise you to stick with one that's already done or start praying for next year's Christmas bonus.
OR there is AE86drift's route of importing, which will cost you well into the 'teen's' for a decent one. But of course, there are risks and procedures, and the underlying restraint of modifying it your own way.
If you ask me, doing it all yourself is a good way of learning and finding joy from the car, but in the long run, you WILL lose out if you crash/sell it, and the time put into it is just NOT worth it, unless you have the dosh to match the time you want it all done in. The AE86 is a passion, and only a few can really get what they really want and enjoy it for a long time, many owners i know have sold their pride and joy due to frustration of the age of the car, and the trouble it carries. But don't get me wrong, starting from scratch is a great way to go, but be prepared for the time and effort. So unless you have around 25K (for the list of things you supplied) or you are expecting to put that much into it, then don't go throught the hardship, just be patient.
After owning my ride and putting every sweat into it, the long hours and late nights, I'm still not satisfied and i don't think that i ever will be due to the limitations of time and money. This has been realised after recently purchasing other cars in the name of late Nissans, where all the work is done for you from the factory - ie. power options/drivetrain. The satisfaction is already there from the 'bang for your buck' without the hassles of breaking down and getting the car to be 'up to date with technology'.
Be patient and happy drifting~!
