I was thinking of getting a pod filter for my Corolla... Then i found out that they are illegal accompanied by a $200 on the spot fine unless they are enclosed... I have thought of getting one and then making up a perspex box to fit around it and then run either some Air Conditioning piping from the front bar or run the normal piping from the lower air box into the perspex bit... Would this still be considered illegal??? The only thing that would be wrong would be an increase in induction noise... I will be getting a new exhaust for the car that will be around 85dB so they can't get me for that... I would hope that with a quieter exhaust they might leave me be a bit more... But then there is the case of the "P" plate on the back... Hmmmm... If not perspex, what other materials could I construct the box from??? I heard that Clark Rubber has a one inch thick bit of foam glued to a piece of sheet metal... Has anyone else seen this??? Is it any good???
