yeah, the torsen centres are just a "can of gears" they bolt onto the existing crownwheel, and accept the stock axles. another cool thing about these old school RX7 diffs is that Guru Racing also make fully floating hub for them. so the fitment of nice big fat floating billet axes can make for an almost bullet proof rear end. expensive, yes, practical for the street, no. but hey, i though it'd be a good idea to choose a rear end that has such parts locally available and relatively cheap!!! and get this, with some small amounts of modifications, a S4/S5 RX7 rear vented twin pot disc brake setup can be fitted. who said awesome brakes???
as for the conversion itself, i fail to see how it's any more expensive than any other setup. as long as the width is not too far out (my friend has a S1, same diff, and width looks alright) then the change over of the toyota brackets is just to be expected with any conversion. and with disc brakes and correct stud pattern stock on the RX7 diff, how can it be more expensive than a shortened, redrilled, brake converted hilux diff?? anyway, this is getting a bit off the topic, and the info i'm actually after...
mrshin, when you looked into this conversion, did you happen to go as far as comparing the width of the diffs. if so, could you help me out with this???
