I've been using greenstuff for a while, and they're generally pretty good - just don't believe the crap on the box about not making wheels dirty! That's utter garbage... I find they seem to work alright even after the disc is glowing quite brightly, something you SURE can't say for pads like performax! (I know, I've tried... and the result is some fascinating smells)
As for chewing up rotors, despite my treatment of brakes, both with metal and kevlar pads, I seem to find my rotors don't actually suffer that much damage - I have more trouble with warping than wear/scoring... Can't quite explain that one!
