since they don't actually flex that much, pretty much anything 'car oriented' will do. cheap-assed enamel will definitely work.. just make sure they are cleanish beforehand (ie no grease)
they're not going to be red or yellow are they heh heh

oh, i had random spraycan enamel on front coils a long time ago.... no signs of that stuff ever coming off!! (and yes they were red sigh.... poor old 1st car )
