I have a problem with the Idle speed dropping when the Air Con is activated causing the car to stall. The car is an AE82 86 model (AFM). Somebody mentioned it may need a new idle speed motor. I don't even know if they have an idle speed motor or some kind of valve (maybe the motor controls the valve??). In the Haynes manual a code 11 trouble code is related to the A/C switch signal. Would this indicate that the A/C unit is not sending the signal to the ECU? I have never used these fault codes to check anything, is it worth trying. Has anyone had a similar problem and got to the bottom of it.
Is it likely it will need a new valve or motor?
I've had the car for almost 3 years and I always turn the A/C off when i come to the lights..suddenly started to annoy me and too cheap to pay to get it fixed. Thanks..any input would be great
