does it still feel like you have vacuum assistance when you apply the brakes?

if not, then it sounds like air is leaking thru a broken booster diaphragm, and increase engine speed.... what kind of revs are we talking here??
disconnect and plug the vacuum line to the booster, and start car and apply brakes just to be sure (not with car moving =bad)
