The piston noise is just the internal combustion efforts not being completely muffled by the oil....solution run a thicker oil.....my 3SGTE gen ii does this also on 5W-40 synthetic oil....if you want run a 10 or 15W and that should get rid of it, I dont mind this because I don't drive it until its warm anyhow.
