also bear in mind you have the volume knob and some of the controls on the dash which will be useless if you remove the stock double din radio.
my mate has an mx83 - he uses the stock speakers in his GLX with a CD player which plugs into the aerial connector and a line level convertor to drive a sub woofer - it sounds great!
that said i don't know of any amplifier anywhere in the car (aside from the one in his boot powering the sub)
