If your engine has the toyota head then it will be an early model.
All the 18rgu heads that I've seen have had the Yamaha labelled head (they are all yamaha heads, just that the later models were labelled so.
18rg-r, These are quite uncommon, so I reckon you'd most likely not have one of those.
Have a look at the front of the head, what is the number?
88210? - 145 hp early model, good pistons (9.7:1), good cams, small port and valve head
88230? - much the same
88252? - 140 hp good pistons (9.7:1CR), large port and valve? not so good cams
anything else? less power, but better head than 88210/230.
