oh, your problem is with the tape player, not the loom? you don't know which wires are which on the tape player? you have NO documentation at all?? that is bad...
well, power up your tape player and test the outputs.. speakers will run at about 5-6 volts yeah???
the power should be obvious (red), earth (green or black?) and a remote/acc?? well, take a punt if you have no idea. (perhaps yellow - I can't remember) if it needs it
you should be able to see these at least on your diagram.. if there isn't a sticker on your tape player... But if you get the power on you will be able to test them anyway.
You *may* be able to power it up without wiring an earth if you just have it toughing the metal frame where it mounts, sometime they earth through that also..
If You start a fire or blow the player, don't sue me pleeeeze... these are just my thoughts off the top of my head.. I would try and power it up, and then run all my tests.
