having driven all these cars then, are you sure the ae86 really is the car for you then?????...
it's not a very powerful car, nor does it pretend to be. It's just a car with good sports emulation at lower speeds. Even with engine transplants and mods, you'd really not wanna go anything beyond ~220hp...
Not unless you wanna do some extensive work to the rest of the chassis, driveline, brakes. Then it becomes stupidly expensive for such an old car. (and I mean stupidly)
Shouldn't you invest your money in a car with higher limits? There are plenty of cars like the ae86 with the potential to be so much more in a LOT less money.
Say for instance, a Series 5 Rx7
or s14, s13, 180sx.
Whatever the reason, I'm sure you'll carefully think it through. As you said, you are not a dreamer like a lot of newbies, so I'll take your word for it.
