thechuckster Forums Junkie Location: Brisbane Registered: February 2003	Re: power consumption of halogen lights Tue, 13 January 2004 00:19 nope - a 20w bulb regardless of kind of technology consumes 20W - a halogen is more efficient at converting electrical energy to light - but it gives off more heat. if you're after low-energy you gotto go low-wattage fluro e.g. a 11w fluro bulb from ikea produces similar amount of light to 60w incadescant bulb note: if you're comparig 60W 240V versus a bunch of 12V lamps - you need to work out the 240v load when the bulbs are all on - not the 12V load - what does the transformer say it needs to power the set of low-voltage bulbs?
