well, the way i see it, your water is cooling your oil, as the oil will be at a higher temp.
you need a water temp gauge to stop the water from boiling.
you need an oil temp gauge to stop the engine from running too hot.
if you are going to run yur car hard, the oil temp will (prolly) rise faster than water temp. and when the oil gets too hot, the bearign oil film can break down....
