Does your car have an immobiliser/alarm ? it may be a faulty relay, if someone has placed the ignition cut in the ecu power supply.

The one and ONLY time I took my car to Toyota was for a timing belt change. The idiots forgot to put the bolts back in on the plastic undertray on the left side. I drove from brisbane to sydney the following weekend and kept hearing funny noises.
And dont even get me started on Pedders (700 bucks for front tires 'cause they can't tell the difference between to in and toe out)
