I'm sick of saying this In all states of Australia, a battery that is fitted in the boot/in the cabin must be in a PLASTIC box and it MUST be vented to the outside of the car!! This goes for ALL batteries even if they are the sealed type.
Also the PLASTIC box must be secured to the floor with appropriate fixings.
NO IF's, BUT's or MAYBEs THIS IS THE WAY IT HAS TO BE DONE!!!
