I bought an AE71 before I bought my ae86, with the intention of doing that as my project car. When I got me a cheap ae86, I basically forgot about the 71 and did the 86 instead. But the cars ARE pretty much the same mechanically (4ac, t50, suspension), although the ae71 does have that charming borg warner diff in it, should be easy to stick a jap one in place of it if you so desire. Oh, and the xe7x cars have some damned fine 80s styling about them
