Hey, I've pretty much done most things to that head unit, including removing it altogether...I doco'd it for ppl trying to do the same thing....

You can also use the amplifier without the head unit with some snazzy wiring and plug a discman or something into it as well...But if you are using an aftermarket head unit, you should remove it all together...Have a look at
