id be saying cam timing without actually looking at it. On the 18r's ive notice you could bascially drive with no manifold at all so i dont think a gasket is gonna cause much trouble. Other problem could possibly be you either dodgy head gasket or maybe not tight enough and has basically caused the head to go again straight away.
