Its definetly a 20-R (helped my mate install a fuel pump and power steering pump) so got pretty close to it for a while there.
the 22-R is complete so i'll wont be changing carby over most likely, and its from a 93 hilux so its not new by any means, but its not EFI so i'm hoping that it will go more easily.
What would be the idea solution is fixing the problems with the 20-R and not have to nick my fathers engine at all, but time will tell.
I've got until march to get the thing blue slipped so I might be able to pull it off before then.
has anyone had any experience pulling down a 20-R, from what I know the only thing wrong with it is it needs new rings.
was going to just strip it down that far and not take the cam out, make my life a bit easier.
after ringing around most places want $1800+ to rebuild it and i have to pull it out and install it. $2500 if they do it.
If i was going to spend that much i'd go for a 1jz or 2jz front cut.
again, any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
