I was wondering about a few things.

Has anyone ever swapped a st165 3sgte block in to a ff celica?
I was hoping to find out if the axle will attach to the back of the block.

I dont feel like trying to line it up and making a bracket.I would be concerned that I would not get the angle right.

Has anyone ever tried fitting the internals from a 5sfe inside a 3sfe or gte block?
I understand that the stroke was changed to get the extra displacement. This leads me to wonder about rod length, piston pin height etc.

For example I know that the deck height of the 7AFE (longer stroke)is higher than its 1.6l brother.

I understand that the deck height is the same on the 5s and 3s engines.

Random thoughts to follow:(fishing for input)

Lots of ideas are swimming around in my head right now, Where would I be if I fit 5S crank with shorter 3sg(t)e rods and pistons
with the idea of building a low compression turbo motor.
Can I get a bit more displacement?

Would I need a spacer plate on the block to stop the pistons hitting the head? would a thicker H/G suffice?

I don't need the engine to live at the redline for hours on end,
but I realize there are limits when you stroke an engine. I have most of the parts to do some trial and error, I would appreciate anyone's thoughts.

(I do not know if it is preferred here to have multiple 3sg Q and A in one thread, or if it would be better to start a new thread-pls tell!)

Edit:
I guess the longer rods would only move the pistons higher in the cyl's. I believe piston speed would be lower though.
