i think most of these apps were written for mac users with umlimited b/band 
if you tell eetee to ultrapeer it will generate mega traffic - also once you've found something and are downloading, close that particular search.
bittorrent will also generate traffic from re-sharing back into the network
i'm trying Acquisition in the background now - very nice interface, and unlike eetee, limewire and iSwipe, runs at a good speed on my B+w G3. however, it's only really searching the gnutella network - next up is MLMac
