what do you mean you cant lock the gt4 box in 2wd?
i have been running one for 6 months in 2wd...but they are just a shit box....synchros are piss weak and thats their biggest problem, oh and massive oil temperatures...
basically you open the transfer case up, pull out the hemispheres, unbolt them, pull viscous out, machine it open, pull crap out, weld it to be one solid piece, make sure splines line up of course, and fit it in, voila it runs 2wd because the crown is free spinning and not driving a tailshaft pinion, you have obviosuly made a plate to cover this i presume.

also leave the transfer selector in 4wd
the lever has 3 positions
the one its in should be 4wd, middle is neutral, bottom is 2wd and apparently it doesnt last so dont bother, i didnt, just left in 4wd with locked viscous coupling...
