IIRC base timing is 10 degrees on a 2TG...wait for someone to confirm this 100% though. Idle should be around 750rpm.

The O2 sensor not being connected won't be the idle issue when warm - check that your cold start injector or water temp sensor (the green and brown sensors) are wired in correctly...

and yes all single wire o2 sensors (for the most of it) are the same - just get one that suits your application dude (ie: goes in the hole where its meant to be)
