An easyout should be fiarly easy to get out, coz it will only just be gripping, so I would attempt to get that out first, (maybe drill it out, I can't see it being to hard), and then go and buy an expensive one.
There is no point pissing around trying to move the alternator if you can put it back easily.
You said the bolt is going into the head, so thats ali, which shouldnt be too hard. Try again I saw, maybe with the next size easyout
