trouble isthey wont pass for rego since epa are pushing for that motor to have proper air box and pollution on it 1980 which means adr27 so the motor would be 18rgu motor with all the pollution devices on
"Proper air box"
What about if you were to fabricate a plenum from mild steel sheet (basically a 500x200x100 box), fit it to the carburettor flange, then...
Fit the Ramflo filters inside the airbox with a 3" port for induction (perhaps ducted with flex tube to cold air)?
Or no filters in the box but a pod filter on the plenum port?
Or an airbox with panel filter in the front of the engine bay connected to plenum with 3" flex tube?
Specifically what pollution controls are required which affect the filters/airbox? The Ramflo kit includes a 1/2" fitting in the air filter backing plate for crankcase ventilation, etc.

chrome K&N ones new are far out of my budget
Wouldn't K&N pods create the same problems as Ramflo ones? Or am I missing some point of difference between the two?
