Anything over $150 per tyre will be OK quality.
Toyo Proxies T1-S are very nice though a little soft... If you drive hard and corner hard you will be lucky to get about 18k out of them but they are so soft and sticky for the price they go for about $180ea... next step up you are looking at Yokohama Advans or Falken Azenis which are both very very sweet tyres. Though I think getting well up over $220 per tyre.
Absolutely bottom of the scale get Yokohama A539's at around $135 each... not a bad all round performance tyre better wearing than the dearer tyres but also alot harder compound. The Kuhmo performance tyre is a bit of a joke... don't even bother if you are going to do hard driving... Just stick with the Jap tyre manufacturers and you can't go too wrong... As with cars... stay away from the Hyundais and Protons of the tyre world... ie Taiwanese, Korean or Malay manufacturers... Sime, Tornado, Kuhmo... etc. etc.
