Remove the thermatic switch and join the wires together.
If the relay pulls in then the coil side of the relay is fine (except for the thermatic switch possibly)
With the relay pulled in, make sure there is voltage at the fans.
If there is voltage at the fans, or they turn on, then substitute a WORKING thermatic switch back into the circuit
