a query for people100/phil: are the 'charge coolers' sealed between header tanks/core with solder/weld? os something else?
is just that when i was at Western Suburbs Radiators (sumner park) they had this sample bit of a truck i/c's that used a push-on non-metal seal between header tanks and all the core pipes - i think it was a simple compression fit thing but obviously designed to suit the rigors of truck use,
if the i/cs use some non-welded jointing system then it make affect the price of header tank fitting - may it makes them easier to assemble - maybe custoim sizes are ruled out ... dunno ... food for thought anyway.
btw phil, what thickness is the core? if i could get a thin, wide unit at the front of the rA40 i'd still have room for a fan between it and all the other bloody heating devices down there (oil, a/c, water). and they're obviously an alloy core?
fwiw: i'm only cooling a max of 13psi boost so my main concern would be a serious drop in pressure over the i/c.
