1. If you plan to replace everything that moves, not really, other than cracked head or corroded water channels. Timing chain guides and dampers (top three) are a bitch to find and $$$$$.
O ring in the top timing chain tensioner is always a good idea too, its cheap to do.

2. Yes there is a difference, and no, you probably didn't have an 18rc one in there, while they might look the same, the two stud holes in the timing case are in different locations.
Try to avoid ACL easy fit gaskets, they look really cheap and I've heared that they are shit.
Durapro GS-BK690*D is made for an 18RGEU, ours was about $67, it is a graphite/metal hybrid that was recommended to us by an automotive engineer.

3. I dunno, new ones for an 18rgeu can be sourced through machining and engineering type peoples who have the right parts book. NO they ARE NOT the same as the 18rc ones, 18rg valves are 8.5mm diameter, which is not the same as the 18rc valves.
for this reason, the valve stem seals from a toyota 2L diesol engine are the right size if you can't easily source the 18rgeu ones.

You can find the tensions in an 18rc/18rg/18rgr or 18rc/18rgu/18rgeu engine manual should you be able to find one.

If you have trouble finding one, I have one and can tell you what they are. There would be a few previous posts with many of these details if you search for them.
