as far as i know its a more efficiant refrigerant...but not too ozone friendly

you can still buy it from some manufactorers
but you really do pay through the arse for it(for obvious reasons)...and you need a CFC ticket to buy it Smile

but yeah
many small fridge systems in europe are actually comming with butane as the standard refrigerant used
its a good agent because its boiling point is at a good temperature
too bad its a hydrocarbon(boom!!)
