I bought mine about 3 1/2 years ago. I imported it myself with the help of a friend over in Japan. It was a 92 2.5 TT. At the time it cost me about $12,000 for the car, but by the time it was on the road after a few stuff ups it cost a total of $24,500. At the time i was looking at one in Melb almost identical for $39,000, so i saved quite a bit. I have a good friend now who imports cars and compliances, and he is getting 2 more in a week which he is selling for around $13,000 complianced.
Unfortunatly i have treated mine like absolute shit over the 3 years. I've done 130,000 (its just about to hit 200,000 now) and only taken it for 3 services in the whole time. I havnt had any major problems with it except for a little bit of black smoke and rough idle when cold recently, and lots of cracks in the door trims (I actually completly broke one, so im getting a new one this week). My heater has also stopped working on 2 ocasions( ??? any ideas here???) I had a sorta accident once, where i lost it and slammed into the gutter on a corner, jumped over it slammed the inside of the other 2 wheels and then ended up in the street that runs into it. I completly chewed that set of wheels ( half of the inside rim just snapped off one of the wheels ), but everything else was fine surprisingly. They are a completly solid car and as comfortable as anything.
